I hope you enjoyed the 2007 Kentuckiana Fly Fishing Show this past January. We think we have really gotten something started here in the upper mid south! The 2007 Kentuckiana Fly Fishing Show drew over 700 attendees who participated with regional and national presenters in various seminars. We also had over 50 "booths" with outfitters, retailers, state DNRs, and over 20 excellent fly tiers. We are somewhat astounded with the success of this show after only two years!

Our g oal for the 2008 show is to increase the quality of our presentations with a bent on instruction. Our exhibitors will include name manufacturers, national retailers, and nationally known presenters such as Dave and Emily Whitlock and Macauley Lord.

The Kentuckiana Fly Fishing Show will be Sat., Jan. 26, 2008, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Airport South located at 2715 Fern Valley Road. The show, which will include nearly 70 exhibits, is expected to draw over 800 men, women, and children from Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Michigan, Maine, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri.

The one-day event will offer participants educational seminars, product and instructional demonstrations related to fly fishing, all in a setting that will entertain the young and old, the novice and seasoned angler. Nationally recognized authors, artist, and fly fishing instructors, Dave and Emily Whitlock; Macauley Lord, Head Instructor for the LL Bean Fly Fishing Schools; and many other fly tiers, authors, outfitters, manufacturers, and fly shops will also be on hand. The 2008 Show will present new programs that will educate and entertain adults and children alike.

The Kentuckiana Fly Fishing Show is open to the public. Tickets are $6.00. Admission is free to active military and children 12 and under when accompanied by an adult.

Derby City Fly Fishers, a FFF affiliated club having been formed in Louisville KY about 3 years ago consists of about 180 members and growing. Our mission is to introduce and educate the sporting public to this fine sport along with conservation efforts to enhance fisheries wherever possible.
