Derby City Fly Fishers Fly Tying

Derby City Fly Fishers hosts a 1 hour fly tying session at 7pm on the 4th Wednesday of each month at the Louisville Nature Center in Louisville, KY. Each month features a new fly, and all of the materials and tying vises are provided. We only have so many loaner vises available, so if you do have your own equipment, please bring it. The classroom and projector screen at the Nature Center is a perfect tying venue where we project live video of the tier on the screen so that you can see all of the details while tying the fly.

We are looking for patterns and tiers you would like to see this year. Please submit your suggestions to Kim Smith by emailing kim@derbycityflyfishers.com, or Kenneth Kloeppel at kenneth@derbycityflyfishers.com.

If you have a specific fly or type of fly you would like to see in one of our open months, please contact Kenneth Kloeppel. If you would like to host one of our sessions, we are looking for volunteers. There are some great tiers in our club and we would really like to showcase your work. Contact Kenneth if you would like to tie.
