Crackleback

The Crackleback was designed by Ed Story for fishing in Missouri, but now is used worldwide. The quick note on fishing it is that it should be fished as both a wet or a dry. Just add a tungsten bead head and fish like a wet or nymph.
Hook: Dai-Riki 300 (10-18)
Thread: Uni-Thread 8/0 Olive, black, camel, etc. (pick your favorite)
Hackle: Furnace (dry fly hackle works best even though you may fish it wet)
Crackleback: Two strands of peacock-herl pulled over the top of the fly body
Body: 6-7 fibers from turkey round feather-PMD color is traditional (dubbing works as well)
